Sponsorship

In faraway China, especially in remote rural or mountainous areas, some 30 million people with disabilities are hobbled by their daily plight and struggling to survive. Unlike those with disabilities in the USA, Canada and European countries where they have access to good quality medical services and educational and employment opportunities, those in China are not treated with the same dignity. China’s welfare and support systems offer extremely limited services; the disabled are not able to receive much needed care, training and assistance. For example, children with limited mobility are excluded from formal education because of the lack of accessibility in schools. In addition, disability and poverty seem to be inseparable twins because of society’s ignorance, discrimination, neglect and refusal to see them as anything but problems and burdens. With God’s guidance over the past years, Rainbow Missions has partnered with several facilities in China and offered low-key and long-term support to help fund tuition fees for visually impaired students to attend college and therapeutic treatment fees and schooling for children on the autism spectrum or with cerebral palsy.

The goal of Rainbow Missions’ sponsorship program is to provide students opportunities to study and receive training so they can have hope and a brighter future. When a student graduates or no longer needs financial help, you could, if you wish, choose another student to support or Rainbow Missions could help you select someone else. The commitment of a sponsor is to financially support a student for a school year (12 months). If you’d like, sponsorship can last several years (depending upon the needs of the student). You may discontinue the support any time after the school year ends. Kindly give us 2-months’ notice for ending this partnership so we would have enough time to find the student a new sponsor.

To Support College Students

To support a visually impaired college student: USD$500 to support a student with one-year tuition fee (a typical school year is September to August of the following year). If you are interested to get more information on any particular student, please contact us and we will send you the profile of that student. Or you may simply fill the Sponsorship Registration Form and make a payment. Rainbow Missions is more than happy to assign a student for you.

Rainbow Missions will send student updates to sponsors twice a year. It would be either in the form of a study report from school, a note from the student, or any updates about the student’s family situation. The report would mention the subjects that the student has learned, and the progress or grading of the study.

More information and updates will be mailed to you with a welcome package. Rainbow Missions sincerely hope that this sponsorship experience is a blessing for you and the student. If you have any questions, please contact us rainbows@therainbows.org

To Support Disabled Children

If you are interested to get more information on any particular student, please contact us so we will send you the student profile.
