See You In August

R=Ricky   L=Livia

R: Hi everyone, I am Ricky, a volunteer of RM.

L: I am Livia, I am also a volunteer of RM.

R: Livia, do you remember our drive-in fundraising event last year?

L: Of course, I am thankful that we could still host it during the pandemic.

R: This year, we are going to have another event at the same location.

L: Yes, the parking lot of Kent Chinese Alliance Church.

R: Our theme this year is “Turning Crisis into Opportunity”

The Pandemic has turned our lives upside down, borders are closed, we have been facing many unknowns. I wonder how our sponsored children with disabilities and their families are doing in China. How can we continue to care for them?

L: Through the internet, we keep in touch with them and field workers, and continue to provide spiritual, mental, and physical support. Crises are tuning into opportunities.  New doors are being opened. You will find out more when you come to our event.

R: At this time during the pandemic, how can we continue to support the children, their parents and field workers?  Support them to turn crises into opportunities?

L: You will find out more when you come to our event!

1:22

L: August 14 – English Event; August 28 – Cantonese Event.  Both events start at 6:30 pm at the parking lot of Kent Chinese Alliance Church.

R: it’s a little bit different this year, we don’t need to sit inside our cars.

L: That’s right, so please make sure you bring your camping chairs, floor mats, cushions, etc. so you can sit comfortably.

R: We will provide dinner at the event and share a video. There will be a musical performance, games and prizes

L: and charity sales too!

2:10

R: We have a lot of goodies for our charity sale. Look at these coasters, they come in a set of 3 with different designs such as a black bear, made with porcelain.

2:33

L: We also have the towel puppy, isn’t it cute? So, you can bring home a towel!

And we have this stainless-steel tumbler with the RM logo, and a lid like this.

2:55

R: Speaking of a tumbler, we also have a double-glass tumbler with infuser for your tea. It’s also very practical for any drink.

3:25

R: And here you can see something embroidered.  Do you know this is? A T-shirt?  A tablecloth?

Let me show you.  Let’s look over there at Livia.

It’s an apron!

This is a well-designed apron, very fashionable, oil and water resistant, with 2 pockets for your phone and anything you need.

4:06

R: And then we also have the reusable bags with different designs, such as this one that says “God bless you!” When we shop we can be reminded that God’s grace is abundant.

The bag comes with a zipper.

And we also have towels, each says “Jesus Loves You”

So we can be reminded that Jesus loves us when we use the towel every day.

These are very practical items.  I know you’ll like them.

4:59

L: It tastes so good!

R: Livia, you know what? You can’t find these drinks anywhere else. These are homemade. With Boba, milk tea or mango green tea drinks. I KNOW you will enjoy them!
