RM 2.0 Building Hope in the Field

Thank God!  RM's 2023 annual fundraising dinners were held on September 30 and October 1 at the China Harbor Restaurant on the shores of Seattle's beautiful Lake Union.

Months before, many hard-working individuals began working on the dinner program and all related needs.

Thank God for always providing us with the best:  The venue for the dinner, the keynote speaker who came from afar --  Applied Behavior Analyst Iris Lai, our encourager Pastor Dennis Ng, the active and enthusiastic charity sale, the reception team, two excellent emcees, the professional music performers, the audio-visual team, and others.  Both on stage and behind the scenes, we could see the selfless dedication and hard work of our brothers and sisters.

Both dinner events were held on the weekend just after the Mid-Autumn Festival. The air was crisp and clear. After the sun set, the night fell, and the bright moon shined brightly in the sky. We spent two evenings full of warmth and hope from the love we share with special needs children and their families in the field.

We were grateful to all who attended on time.  From 5 to 6 pm, enthusiastic guests gathered in front of the charity booths.  Many young people shuttled among RM’s old friends and newcomers selling a variety of delectable foods from those booths plus raffle tickets. The atmosphere was warm and lively!

The program officially began at 6:00, and every detail of the program was carried out accordingly.  Brothers and sisters saw the struggles and challenges of children with special needs and their parents in the field.  They were inspired by the sharing and responded with love.

Thank God!  The two fundraising dinner events had over 330 people in attendance, and the current total donation amount is approximately $86,000!

What particularly moved us was the group of teenagers in the charity sale team who actively participated in raising funds for young people with special needs --similar in age to themselves -- in faraway China whom they had never met.   Thanks to their enthusiastic and sincere efforts, the charity sales of food, gifts and raffle tickets were impressive, with total sales over $7,000!  God’s grace exceeded all expectations!

Indeed, "Every child should be loved,

They are our future!

The best future.

We love each other regardless of our differences.

Through mountains and seas convey our care,

Love and blessings will always be theirs..."

Thank you again for your loving support at our 2023 annual fundraising dinner events.  I pray that the Lord will personally remember and bless you in return!!
